Celebrating the Spirit of Freedom & Patriotism 
Independence Day Celebration at DAV Public School, Sector-3, Kurukshetra
“Freedom is not merely a privilege; it is a responsibility to build a better nation.”
The spirit of patriotism and pride reverberated through the campus of DAV Public School, Sector-3, Kurukshetra, as the school celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, fervour and national pride.
The programme commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by our esteemed Principal Mrs. Geetika Jasuja and revered guests Dr. Kavita Kamboj (Additional District and Session Judge Kurukshetra) along with Mrs. Vibha Dev Yodha, Mrs. Nirmal Mittal and Mrs.(Dr.) Rama Mahna, symbolising the dispelling of darkness and the illumination of knowledge, hope and freedom.
The celebration unfolded with a captivating Yoga presentation, where the students showcased discipline, balance and inner strength. This serene beginning was followed by an energetic array of performances that beautifully captured the diverse colours of India.
A patriotic play depicting the struggle for Independence transported the audience back to the defining moments of India’s freedom movement. Through powerful acting and an evocative narrative, the Class VIII students, paid tribute to the courage and sacrifices of the freedom fighters. It provided the students a wonderful platform to develop their leadership, communication, teamwork and creative skills, in compliance with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP).
The atmosphere became even more vibrant with patriotic musical performances and an inter house group song competition, as students participated with immense enthusiasm and filled the air with melodies celebrating the motherland. 
The young performers of Classes VI and VII enthralled everyone with an energetic aerobics performance, bringing together rhythm, fitness, coordination and confidence on one stage.
Adding another meaningful dimension to the celebration one more wonderful play centred around the freedom struggle by our young performers of Hanraj house left the audience deeply moved and reminded everyone that the freedom we cherish today is built upon the courage, sacrifices and dreams of countless Indians.
A student of Hanraj house also revived the colours of haryanvi culture and teej festival by reciting a haryanvi poem.
The programme also carried a significant message of healthy and purposeful living with the presence of a team of Brahma Kumaris. The ‘Sisters’ interacted with the students and sensitised them towards leading a drug-free and addiction-free life. They beautifully emphasised that addiction is not restricted to drugs alone; any unhealthy or negative habit that begins to control our thoughts, time and behaviour can become an addiction. The students were encouraged to develop self-discipline, make positive choices and cultivate habits that contribute to their physical, mental and emotional well-being.
The celebration culminated on a high note, leaving the audience inspired and emotionally connected to the values of freedom, unity, courage, responsibility and love for the nation. The enthusiasm of the students and the appreciation of the audience made the occasion truly memorable.
